Isn't Scientology just self-help?
It began as a self-help science in 1950, but it teaches a full account of what a person is, where the universe came from and how to be spiritually free. That is a religion, and it can be compared with the Bible.
Dianetics was presented as a science of the mind. Scientology added teaching about the thetan, past lives, the creation of the physical universe and a path to spiritual freedom. Those are claims about ultimate reality, and they contradict what the Bible says about God, humanity and salvation.
